Myles Yeazell–Lead Cello Instructor
Myles Yeazell is a cellist from Cincinnati, Ohio, who began studying cello at the age of twelve. During his high school years, he studied with Alan Rafferty and Dr. Sarah Kim, later earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in cello performance from the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Alan Rafferty. He also completed a Graduate Certificate at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where he studied with Andrew Shulman. While at USC, Myles was a fellow with the Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship, performing with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and mentoring young musicians through the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA).
Myles has been recognized as a national semifinalist in the 19th Annual Sphinx Competition and as a finalist in the 2017 Tennessee Collegiate Cello Workshop Competition, and has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Matt Haimovitz, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and Kian Soltani. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues his work with ICYOLA while also serving as a section cellist with the Lexington Philharmonic, maintaining an active performance and teaching career grounded in excellence, mentorship, and access.
