2025–26 Season Theme
“I, Too, Sing America”
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, ICYOLA’s 2025–26 season honors the enduring spirit, creativity, and resilience of Black Americans — past and present.
Inspired by Langston Hughes’ iconic poem, “I, Too,” this season celebrates 250 years of Black artistry, struggle, and triumph through powerful musical storytelling. From spirituals to symphonies, jazz to contemporary works, each performance lifts up voices that have helped define — and redefine — what it means to be American.
