Amber Daughtry–Lead Violin Instructor
Amber Daughtry is a Los Angeles–based violinist who discovered her love for music at the age of four, inspired by her older sister and a home filled with music. Her early artistic development led to a solo debut at just 14, performing Meditation from Thaïs with the Southeast Symphony Orchestra, one of the nation’s leading professional majority-Black orchestras. Amber went on to attend the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she received intensive daily training in ensemble performance, chamber music, and music theory.
Following high school, Amber studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara under renowned concert violinist Yuval Yaron, earning musical merit awards and performing as a member of the UCSB Honors String Quartet. She later continued her studies in Chicago, graduating from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, studying with distinguished faculty as well as instructors affiliated with the Juilliard Pre-College Division. Amber currently serves as a mentor with ICYOLA and performs annually at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for the orchestra’s season-ending concerts. Her additional performance credits include appearances at the Hollywood Bowl, collaborations with the rock band Imagine Dragons, and recording as concertmaster and soloist on the Academy Award–winning animated short film If Anything Happens I Love You.
