Rosalind Darbeau Dowling–Music Director, Junior Symphony

Rosalind Darbeau Dowling is a Los Angeles-based violinist and educator who discovered her passion for music at the age of nine. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from California State University, Northridge in 2015, where she served as concertmaster of the CSUN Symphony Orchestra. She has also served as concertmaster of the West Coast Classical Orchestra and currently performs as a section violinist with the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) and the Santa Monica Symphony.

Throughout her career, Rosalind has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Southeast Symphony, Afro-American Chamber Music Society, American Youth Symphony, YMF Debut Orchestra, and Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra. Her performance experience also includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Yolanda Adams, Andrea Bocelli, Metro Boomin, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Natalie Cole, and Machine Gun Kelly, as well as contributions to television productions and recordings by emerging artists.

Rosalind has been equally devoted to music education since 2011. She earned her teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles in 2020 and currently serves as Strings Director for the El Segundo Unified School District and Music Director of the ICYOLA Academy Junior Symphony. Through her teaching, Rosalind inspires young musicians to pursue excellence while cultivating a lasting appreciation for diverse musical traditions. She continues to balance her work as both an educator and performer, sharing her passion for music with students and audiences throughout Southern California.
